Wayne's baseball team had to win today or they were out of the Tournament of Champions and they pulled it off!! So we're around for another day of baseball :)
Storm come from behind to beatSoutheast DB LL, 14-11
A loss looked likely for Storm when it trailed by six runs in the fourth inning, but Storm was able to capture the lead back with a a steal of home byGabriel Ibarra in the fourth inning, spurring Storm to a 14-11 win over Southeast DB LL at CS #2 on Friday.
Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 25 total runs and 14 hits during the game.
Jaiden Ibarra racked up two RBIs on one hit for Storm. He homered in the third inning.
Ibarra recorded the win for Storm even though he allowed five runs over three innings. He struck out six, walked three and surrendered three hits.
The top of the first saw Southeast DB LL take an early lead, 2-0. A triple by#6, scoring #1 started the inning off. More runs came home for Southeast DB LL when scored on a groundout by #10.
It didn't take long for Storm to respond as it scored three runs of its own in the third. Storm scored on a wild pitch and a two-run home run by Ibarra.
Storm went up for the duration of the game after the fourth inning. Additional runs came from a groundout by Gavin McKinnon, two singles, three steals of home, a walk by Wayne Dunn, and two wild pitchs.
One run in the top of the fifth helped Southeast DB LL close its deficit to 14-11. An error fueled Southeast DB LL's comeback. The game went final when #6 struck out.
