Newborn Screening

You'd think after 5 babies that taking Bruce to his newborn screen would be routine, but it wasn't. Maybe its because he almost never cries outside of wanting to eat and protesting a diaper change, but when he started crying after the nurse poked his foot I had to really refrain from crying with him. And as she kept squeezing his poor little heel to get all the blood samples she needed and his cry became even more heartbreaking I seriously wanted to punch her! Thankfully she finished shortly after that urge came on because I think it could get pretty complicated trying to care for a newborn from jail!
